1957 Chevrolet Apache Truck

Aren’t these trucks cute?  I thought so too, so 10 years ago I bought this truck sight unseen off the web and had it delivered.  Don’t we all know better?  It looked just like this from a block away, but a close look revealed huge bubbles of rust and terrible preparation under the paint. 

We put in power steering and did some other good work but the project made no economic sense.  I think I had paid 12 grand for it and it was only worth five.

Sold it a couple of years later for less than I paid for it.

Lesson:  Buy it cheap and know more about what you’re buying.
