1946 Ford Truck

One of my first projects.  

Bought it as a cab on a 79 E-350 Ford chassis with 460 Ford V8 and C6 automatic, without a bed.  Lots of loose parts included but much was still missing.   

I did everything wrong during the 4-5 years of building it.  I didn’t have a separate place to work on it and I had various mechanic and non-mechanics work on it part time inside our manufacturing shop.  Must have been rewired 3 times.  Nightmare of re-dos and bad communications, proving to myself the obvious –  I did everything wrong !  

But we built a first class bed with gooseneck hitch, finally finished the job, and started using it in daily commercial service. 

It was never reliable and anyway it was totaled when an 18 wheeler came off the road and ran into it.  Thankfully driver survived OK.  Sold it for parts.
