CAR PROJECTS UNDERWAY

46 Dodge Power Wagon

This cab will ultimately be mounted on a 2007 Ram 3500 4WD 6.7L diesel chassis with Aisin auto trans.  3500 Ram front axle mounts 4500 10-bolt wheels with modified 4500 axle shafts and 4500 power steering setup.   This arrangement fits the Power Wagon fender width nicely whereas a 4500 axle would be much wider.  Rear axle is 4500 with 10-bolt dually wheels.  Axle ratios are 4.88.  We will build a flatbed with gooseneck hitch like the bed shown on our former 46 Ford truck.

Cab will be restored and set up with late model AC, instruments, lighting, etc.  Heavy hydraulic winch will be powered by hydraulic pump mounted to Aisin PTO.  We have mocked up the cab modifications to the firewall and floor so the big 6.7 Cummins diesel engine can fit nicely without outside body modifications.

This is a cool project, and will result in a truck much different and more powerful than a stock Power Wagon which is no fun to drive.  Still, we don’t have time for this project right now so maybe you want to talk me out of it and take it from here.
